I haven’t seen anyone mention this, but Leon taking an attack from Eternatus to make sure Charizard can keep the kids safe? Great attention to detail, exactly what a big brother would do.

Ok, but I love how Leon just called out Charizard’s name and he instantly knew that he was telling him to protect the kids

So, Leon using a regular pokeball on Eternatus is canon. I still can’t believe he’d do that when he has all his other Pokemon in Ultra Balls.

I honestly never even thought about how Leon took the recoil from Eternatus breaking out of the Poke Ball head on and how injured he might’ve been from it. The rest of this is amazing too!

Unpopular opinion: No, you did not destroy Leon’s hopes and dreams, you’ve actually helped him., he was shaken by the fact that he thought of himself as the best trainer in Galar but yet he was unable to stop Eternatus, so what does Leon learn from your battle against him? He learns that he isn’t the best trainer in Galar, that’s why he smiles in the end and accepts his defeat, pursues a different thing (battle tower), overall everyone is happy even if they didn’t get what they wanted they get another choice.

I want to see how Leon feels about Rose basically betraying him after grooming him into the Champion he was.

I gotta say these short series on YouTube are probably my overall favourite official pokemon content.

Wow, just wow.
Leon seems so strong, everyone believes in him, everyone thinks he’s the best, but even he struggles sometimes, i wish game would have shown this too, it was amazing.

Also, Charizard comforting him is so cute

Also love the extra detail of having the protagonist’s Inteleon glide him down to the pokeball. Inteleon doesn’t get much love in animated things(hopefully that changes considering one of the recent ep’s). But it’s cool to see it’s snipe shot in action

Why can’t we get an Inteleon that helps us over rivers by gliding…? Missed opportunity to make him a Water/Flying

Leon looks borderline traumatized by the events with Eternatus. He looks like he’s worried what he could possibly do if something like that happened again. That smile, when you beat him? It’s a smile off relief. You’ve taken a weight off of his shoulders, but it takes him a moment to realize that, so it takes him a moment before he smiles.

Glad to see the main character, the corviknight guy, is back. He wasn’t here long, but he made a cameo.

The fact that it has more mature themes like in Generations makes me really happy! The focus on the champions feelings after having to deal with the trauma of not feeling strong was something* else, can’t wait for lily and lusamine

I’m going to love this just as much as Generations and Twilight Wings. The art in these videos is stunning, please thank the artists for this!

I don’t understand why they haven’t given us a more “adult” Pokémon show… they have always aimed the shows for children… This art style makes the characters feel like real people.

Leon has courage, empathy and even people supporting him, it’s so heart felting that Charizard helped him and to not give up. Leon is one of my favourite champion s. Excellent work to everyone who made this Pokémon animation 👍😃

The Pokémon cities in the anime always feel more alive of that of the games. Yeah, it would probably be super easy to get lost, but that’s the fun of exploration.

Ok, but this as a full series with full length episodes.

The story of each of the generations done in animation like this would be amazing. Now of course, gen 1 probably wouldn’t need it because Origins but still.

I really enjoyed how in 8 minutes this show has patched up so many plot holes… except for poke ball on eternatus.
I and many others went: damn Leon spent his whole life winning then lost and went ok? And this show made Leon feel more human so now I’m excited for the rest

I’ve always wanted to see an animation of a trainer whom caught a legendary; like Eternatus or Rayquaza, the big and scary ones, in a friendly manner – being friends.

I’m not even too into Pokémon, but seeing this series’s take on London, as a Londoner was truly fascinating.

I really dig the art style and direction they went with this, a lot more mature when it comes to this style and I’m all for it. Reminds me a lot of pokemon generations 👀

This. This is why we need a Pokemon series where they actually follow the story of the games. This was so well done. The emotion of Leon in the locker room was palpable. And then the smaller things like Inteleon flying Victor over to the pokeball. Combine that with an art style that feels mature but still leaves room for the epic moments. Can we seriously petition for full series in each region in this style following the actual plot of the games?

People give some of the games a hard time for their story (like SwSh) but I feel like if done right in an anime they could actually make for really impressive stories. Imagine splashing in little moments with Chairman Rose and Oleana as they talk about the Darkest Day and their plans to harvest the pokemon for energy. Victor/Gloria could still have their mystery, but we as the viewers don’t need it.

I really like the whole locker room scene with Leon as he comes to grips with his time as the untouchable champion drawing to a close.
He’s a like a pro athlete setting out on his last match, being comforted and encouraged by his team and deciding that he’ll go out on his terms, aiming to give the best performance of his career.

I love how grizzled yet kind Charizard looks. Like he’s been battle scared and therefore a lot older looking giving him this extra personality as well!!

Pokemon just said “Leon has PTSD” and “black Victor is anime canon” and honestly I’m living for it.

This is beautiful, but nothing will convince me Leon’s fashion isn’t a international crime of some nature

I’m not the first person to say this, but just like in the game, its really deep how Charizard protects the two kids when Eternatus breaks out. Rather, what makes it deep is that Leon didn’t have to tell charizard to protect the kids, he simply called out its name and Charizard just knew what Leon was thinking.

I appreciate them showing that the Pokeball actually snaps in half when the pokemon escapes from it. I always assumed as much as in the games you don’t get them back but it was a nice addition.

Love how we get to see Leon’s perception on the story line. His regret and frustration in contrast to the main character’s success and glory really deepens the story into a much more sophisticated tangle of human emotions. This is a masterpiece.

I’m surprised they chose victor to be the one to show off as the protagonist. Glorias a lot more popular, but I’m really happy they’re showing Victor some love.

My man, tries to catch Eternatus with a base pokeball , what a savage. Hes like one of these op characters that beats main story line and just walk around and to stupid things, flexing on legendary pokemons lol.
