*The Marowak and Stantler fusion references the Wendigo. A humanoid deer cryptid that’s well known for killing and eating hikers.*

*some variants even have it that it’s the transformation a person undergoes after they become a cannibal*

Fun fact: the mawile and machoke fusion is a reference to a French indie game called “off”

The aerodactyl and cofagrigus wasn’t terrifying, it was more cool. But everything else was beyond terrifying, they’re straight up disturbing.

The cubone fusion is a reference to the Wendigo from Native American mythology. The lore behind it is very interesting.

I think the Machoke x Mawhile fusion is a reference to The Batter from the 2008 indie game OFF. The sprites are extremely similar and that’s what the protagonist looks like in the 2nd ending you choose to fight him. Cool as reference

That Charizard/Pinser opener almost caused me to choke on my milk. Was not expecting the short to live up to the title so quickly *that* hard.

The stantler x marowak is a wendigo reference. I’d recommend checking it out if you’re into horror

I feel like the gardevoir and parasect’s bio would be something like this “Using its psychic powers, the paravoir freezes it’s prey with fear, who must wait, trapped and terrified as the paravoir slowly shuffles over, taking its time as it begins to consume them alive.”

The marowak and stantler fusion, as well as being based on the indie game “off” actually appears to be a reference to the native American being known as a Wendigo, though it seems to be the more well known variant with a deer like form.
