Episode 301 welcomes Rika Matsumoto, voice actress for Satoshi, the main character in the “Pokémon” TV animation series that has been broadcast since 1997 and is loved not only in Japan but around the world.
She will perform “Mezase Pokemon Master -with my friends-,” the opening theme song for anime “Pokemon: Mezase Pokemon Master,” which is the final chapter of the story of the main characters Satoshi and Pikachu that will reach its final episode in the series next week on March 24.
This time, the song will be performed live by a special composition that includes the band, electric violin, and chorus. Enjoy the one-shot performance, only on THE FIRST TAKE.

I’m crying right now. I never cried this hard after any anime or manga ended. I’m 30 and I watched Pokemon since ep1. I stopped watching after Johto ended but I still followed the updates and watched some new episodes here and there. I can say that I grew up with Satoshi and Pikachu. I never thought the day when they won’t be main characters anymore would come. It’s so sad but what can I do? Thank you for everything Satoshi and Pikachu. #ThankYouAshAndPikachu
I cannot begin to express my gratitude for having made my childhood years so joyful and magical a time, to each and every one everywhere that contributed to Pokémon’s success across the global stage, including my humble home country of Finland. It has been a journey indeed, with its ups and downs and sometimes heartily leaping sideways.
From this 1995’s kid now in his late 20’s, I give my heartfelt thanks for it all.
And if I might be so presumptuous as to “offer advice”; even though life and society expect us to grow up and become adults, don’t ever let go of that one last spark of childlike spirit and wonder in you, don’t let anyone snuff it out or steal it from you. It makes life just that little bit more easier to bear, I find.

Tenia diez años cuando la empece a ver y a partir de ahi me volvi fan de toda la franquicia, Ame el momento que obtuvo a Bulbasaur ya que fue la primer pelea limpia para capturar a un pokemon, llore cuando perdio en la liga indigo, me emocione cuando quedo campeon en la isla naranja, amaba la epoca Johto empezando por su tema principal y Lugia. El momento que vi campeon a Ash me animo en un momento dificil de mi vida ahora a mis 35 años ya que me recordo los buenos tiempos que pase, pero es tiempo de evolucionar y que otros niños crezcan como nosotros lo hicimos a lado de Ash y Pikachu. One thing I love about this video, is that you can feel that Rica Matsumoto is giving her all, in what is prob one of the last times she’ll ever be able to record any version of this iconic song.

No crecí con esta canción … pero por alguna razón … esa alegría de Rika Matsumoto esa sensación que transmite mientras da todo de sí… es como ver a ash/satoshi .. y me transmite mucha nostalgia, me hace recordar como mis padres gastaron sus ahorros para darme un regalo de cumpleaños que cambió mi vida, un Game Boy con un juego de Pokemon Rojo … sin saberlo, a ese niño sin amigos, sin nada, le dieron la mejor historia con tantas enseñanzas, tantos nuevos viajes y aventuras… con Pokemon, aprendí que rendirse JAMÁS es una opción, incluso aprendí otro idiomas solo traduciendo palabra por palabra con un viejo diccionario por que el juego estaba en inglés y mis padres no sabian el idioma… por esto y más.. gracias Satoshi… Gracias Rika, por todo los que nos obsequiaste durante 26 hermosos años.

This brought back so many childhood memories. That time only TV existed, so I had to be back home by 6pm every Saturday just to watch the newest episode.
After seeing this, I really hoped The First Take could invite Koji Wada to sing Butterfly from digimon. Unfortunately, that will never happen in the future.
애니메이션을 일어판으로 접한지는 얼마 되지 않지만, 한국에서나 일본에서나 성우도, 오프닝 OST도 그 오랜 팬들을 눈물짓게 하는가보네요🥹
